  • Peregrine Honig, Lorena Gallardo, Nuuk Nook

A collaboration to make a female guayabera was conceived during the Yucatán Artist Residency. Nuuk Nook, a woman owned fair trade family run business in Merida, Mexico owned by Lorena Gallardo worked with artist, Peregrine Honig to create this shirt and dress. Nuuk Nook’s family of sewers called the shirt collaboration Las Peregrinas and charmingly, the name stuck. Darted at the breast, capped at the shoulders - cowboy back in 100% linen with a functional slender breast pocket, Peregrine Honig sells the shirt at her store, Birdies. Small batch, fair trade, woman owned and produced, this is an authentic collaboration between her shop and another emerging business.
