Yucatán Artist Residency
Experience Yucatán’s art and culture scene and stay at an island home directly on the beach in exchange for a work of contemporary art.
The Yucatán Artist Residency, which sits directly on the beach in the fishing village of Chuburná Puerto, Mexico, offers expansive views of the Gulf of Mexico. In exchange for a work of art, selected artists are offered the entire property for five nights and six days, currently valued at $500 to $1000 per day - season dependent. Artists may use the property for rest and relaxation with friends and family, up to eight people, or they can work on their craft. Alternatively, artists can choose to stay on the property while the director is in residence. Each of the four available bedrooms rooms have balconies and private bathrooms. We are accepting proposals from contemporary artists, musicians, videographers, and photographers and are collecting works of art in all mediums for both interior and exterior placement.

Residency Dates:
We accept 12 residents per year for 5 nights and 6 days. Collaborators or artist couples will also be considered.

Submission Process:
Submit a proposal with a specific work in mind.
Include no more than 5 low resolution images with dimensions of previously made work you would like to trade.
Let us know if you prefer to make something site specific and include images of similar work.

Let us know your desired experience while in residence, the months you are available to come, and if you want to trade for the entire property exclusively or come while the director is in residence.
MUSICIANS
Musicians are asked to play one or two intimate concerts while staying at the property.
We will accept proposals for recordings.
All recordings will become part of the archive of the Y.A.R. archive and will be affiliated with the program.
